.HEATHER.

[Assistant Photographer]

HEATHER was born and raised in the Millard-Fillmore district in the heart of Buffalo’s East side. She and her father shared their love for photography and would often go on photo adventures together, frequenting Buffalo’s Central Terminal - climbing the walls, navigating broken staircases, all for the sake of capturing the very best shots.

Heather’s passion really took off in high school, where she got to spend countless hours in the CEPA Gallery darkroom. Watching her photographs come to life in real time really sparked her flame. While in college, Heather ended up registering for two photography classes just for fun, as she strived towards her BA in English Literature.

Once again, Heather was able to spend a number of hours in the darkroom, which is where she developed a 1st place award winning photograph in October of 2012 from Buffalo State College. Coincidentally enough, the winning photograph was taken within the Buffalo Central Terminal’s long-abandoned baggage claim. A place that Heather & her father had frequented many times.

Fast forward to the Summer of 2020, Heather landed a chance at working as a second shooter for First Look Photography. another local wedding photographer. In the present, she is ecstatic to work alongside Alana Adetola Arts’ talented and growing team.

.ELIZABETH.

[Associate Photographer]

ELIZABETH fell in love with photography many years ago, when she was a child. Her grandmother kept a box of all of old family photographs, and to her, that was a box of treasure. She would spend hours looking through the box of photographs with her Grandmother, listening to the stories of the people in the photos. She often found herself getting “lost” in the stories and the faces of the family members she had never met.

As she grew older, that interest lead her to study photography in High School and later, to decide to major in fine-art photography. Since then, Elizabeth has taken that passion for story telling and combined it with her love of art to form her own unique documentary style of photography.

Her good friends call her "E". Elizabeth has 4 amazing children who are her entire world. She also has 3 dogs and 3 cats, because why not add to the chaos? [It makes life more interesting, right?] She dons lots of tattoos, her favorite flower is Ranunculus, and she loves the smell of lemons!  Chick Fil A...[need we say more?]  Her favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird and she loves a good random 'no destination' road trip with her family. She also adore cows and secretly wishes to own a dairy farm one day!
