‘Levitate’ is a collection of pieces intended to carry the viewer in & out of the frame. 

Throughout a number of the photographs, you’ll notice the figures are rising or lifting in form, floating in mid air. In other photographs, you might notice that the figure seems to be more grounded. And in some cases, this grounding or  more stabilized subject is shown through the usage of various objects or props. In other cases, the edge of the frame itself, serves as the figures grounding medium. 

These works are to be viewed as individual pieces, but ultimately, there’s obvious connection between them.

The layout of the images can be viewed as if one of the figures is providing physical or emotional guidance to another. But the separation of each photograph leaves conscience room for your mind to wander…to drift.

I encourage you to view these photographs without rules. To be defiant of what the overall intention might have been. To let yourself create a narrative full of meaning that’s all your own.
