This hands-on, beginner photography workshop will walk you through the essentials of how to use your digital SLR camera and all of its key functions. You will learn the most essential functions of your camera and the confidence necessary to put these new tools into action. You’ll learn basic photography terminology and get a solid understanding of lighting and composition techniques. You will learn how to position yourself as well as your subject for optimal results. By the end of this workshop, you will feel confident enough to take your photography skills to the next level! Below you’ll find some of the main topics covered:

Alana Adetola Arts Photography’s mentorship’s provide guidance to those who are interested in taking risks & trusting the process. These mentorship offerings are designed to allow each student to step into their unique creative voice through live experiential methods. At the end of your session, you will have created a strong body of images for your portfolio that will certainly stand out & show the world who YOU are, as a photographer.
My goal with mentoring is to be able to meet each individual student, where they are. I want to be able to assist you in your growth as a photographer & provide you with the necessary tool’s that you’ll need to help you to create more authentically inspired work that speaks to who you are as a person.

WHAT WE WILL COVER:
- How to photograph a subject[s] in different lighting settings.
- How to use authentic prompts to guide your subjects.
- How to create emotive imagery using powerful posing techniques.
This type of mentorship is deal for more advanced photographers who are looking to find their voice and connect on a deeper level with their craft.
We will discuss how to prepare, pose and direct anywhere from [1-3] different subjects in order to produce the most authentic imagery that speaks to your style as a photographer. We will also cover techniques that will help you to feel better prepared to take on any type of photography session, which will inevitably help to build both confidence and creativity.
During our time together, you’ll be able to learn how to direct & interact with your clients in order to make them feel more comfortable in front of the camera. You’ll learn a bit about location scouting, camera settings, how to manipulate lighting, and so much more. This hands-on one-on-one mentorship is so much fun and a really great way to learn. The images you produce from this session will make a great addition for your portfolio!

EDITING | Q+ A $175/hour

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Camera
- An SD Memory Card with at least [5-10] images

WHAT WE WILL COVER:
- How to safely backup your images.
- An efficient workflow from import to delivery.
- How to select presets that suit your lighting and shooting condition as well as personal style.
- How to edit a variety of images without the use of presets.
- The best print settings for specific types of photos.
- Unlimited Q + A on anything & everything that is camera and photo related.
You will learn how to control as many modules in Adobe Lightroom as we can cover. You’ll also learn how to manipulate your images to achieve the tones and depths that speak to your specific editing style. You will also be given the chance to ask me as many photo-related questions as you’d like.
Additional hours may be added as we go for $75/hour if you’re enjoying learning about the editing process & would like to continue spending time together.
